What’s New for 2017-18?

PowerSchool Now Available In All Grade Levels

The Windham School District is delighted to now offer the PowerSchool Parent Portal at every grade level. PowerSchool streamlines communications and will help keep students and parents informed of upcoming assignments, grades, classroom activities and other important information. New PowerSchool users will receive instructions for setting up their parent accounts as well as their user Access ID and Access passwords after completion of the InfoSnap  registration verification in the coming weeks. Instructions will also be provided to those parents looking to add a younger child to an already existing parent portal account.

1:1 Technology

We are delighted to announce that beginning this year, each student in the district will be equipped with 1:1 technology. We will be distributing MacBook Airs to all high school students; Chromebooks to every student entering grades 2-8 and iPad resources to kindergarten and grade 1 students. With 1:1 technology, the Windham School District is able to provide a 21st century learning environment and effectively integrate technology into curriculum and instruction to improve student learning, increase learning opportunities, and encourage the use of different and innovative teaching methods.

Registration verification is forthcoming. Parents will receive an email with their user ID and code to access the system and will then be required to complete all documentation in order to view their child’s assignments and schedules

Bus Information:

As a reminder, we encourage all students to take the bus to ensure safety. If your child will not be participating in the busing program for the upcoming school year, please notify the district at the earliest convenience in order that we can adjust routes and schedules accordingly. Bus routes are available here.

School Menus:

Menus will be available in mid-August and posted to the website. Please stay tuned and check back in the coming weeks.

School Messenger Communication System:

As a reminder, the District contracted last year with SchoolMessenger Solutions as our new provider for parent notifications.  SchoolMessenger offers a variety of communication options to utilize when sending messages regarding attendance calls for unreported absences, emergencies, school closings and delays, newsletters, school announcements, athletic updates, and other types of information.

Emergency Messages and Attendance Calls

Parents/Legal Guardians are automatically enrolled based on the information provided for both the Mother/Legal Guardian and Father/Legal Guardian.  The Home Phone is required for Emergency and Attendance Calls.  Cell Phone, and email will also be utilized, but you will have the option at a later date, to designate preferences or to opt-in to receive text messages.

infoCenter – Preferences

SchoolMessenger offers a variety of ways for parents and guardians to manage their communications preferences.  You can download the InfoCenter mobile app from Google Play or the Apple App Store, as well as sign up online by visiting, which will also be available as a link via your PowerSchool Parent Portal account.  In InfoCenter you may designate which of your numbers you wish to opt-in for text messages or select email only for newsletters and other non-emergency announcements.  For more information about SchoolMessenger and InfoCenter, please download the following document or visit our district website to learn more.  SchoolMessenger InfoCenter for Parents.pdf
